Dear friends,
We said goodbye to Miss Betty, the Grande Dame, on Tuesday, February 19^th at approximately 7:30am. Betty lived her life to the fullest. In fact she played with Yogi and Maddie and strolled the property, enjoying the sun in her usual way, up until Monday afternoon.

Betty touched so many lives and this became more and more clear as the cards, emails, phone calls and other tributes rolled in as news of her passing reached the ears of her admirers and friends through word of mouth and the wonderful dedication in the Rocky Mountain News by a kind reporter from the Colorado State Capital.

Betty was very willingly the first animal massage "model" for RMSAAM and she did her job well. Betty made friends everywhere she went from massage classes to the Colorado State Capital to the street no one could resist her charms.

I want to thank everyone for the thoughtful poems, the wonderful and heartwarming cards, emails and phone calls, and the trees planted in Betty’s honor.

I have been the proud guardian of Betty for almost 14 years and will miss her very, very much.

Sadly, only one day later, Mary Brickner lost her beloved Mattie (the dog on the right). The following is from Mary.

Dear friends and family,

We said goodbye to Mattie on February 20th when stomach cancer took over her poor little body. Mary was lucky enough to be by her side everyday for the last week of her life. When it was time to pass over Mattie was completely relaxed and ready to go. Her warm spirit and bright energy still fill us so we know she is happy and free again.
