ECMC, EMC and CMC - These classes are Animal Massage Practitioner Options. They provide the student with the foundation, training and confidence to begin a career as an animal massage practitioner. These programs also prepare you for our advanced program of study.
AAC - This is our Animal Acupressure Practitioner Program. This program is the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is an excellent addition to any of our massage programs.
AAMC - This certificate is achieved by earning an on-site ECMC, EMC or CMC certificate in addition to earning AAC Level 1 and Level 2 certificates.
MAMC - This advanced level program is for those seeking a Master Animal Acupressure and Massage Practitioner Certificate. This program is available to select graduates who have already achieved AAMC status. This program of study is developed on an individual basis with prospective students who express interest. Requirements will include a 50 hour independent internship, 50 hours of independent case study work and 50 hours of assistant teaching at RMSAAM. This is a mentoring program and you are assigned a mentor for the duration. (150 hours)
On-site Certificate Programs
EQUINE AND CANINE SPORTS MASSAGE CERTIFICATION (ECMC)
- 6.5 Days on site. Pre course work required, allow three weeks. (110 hour program) (36 CACVT supportive category CE's)
- Anatomy and Physiology, Equine and Canine - Palpate bony landmarks and major muscles, learn origins and insertions and actions during movement. Study from anatomical dog models as well as live subjects.
- Canine Sports Massage; Pre and Post massage Considerations, Strokes, Techniques, Sequence and Specific Conditions.
- Equine Sports Massage; Pre and Post Massage Considerations, Strokes, Techniques, Sequence and Specific Conditions
- Building and Marketing Your Practice in the Sports Industry and General Public. Confidentiality, ethics, developing, taking and maintaining records, preparing case histories, developing case studies, marketing strategies and insurance.
- Pathologies - Gait observation and its relation to muscle imbalances and abnormalities. Common canine and equine sports related problems and diseases. Discuss medications, nutrition, and treatments both holistic and modern.
- Animal Handling- Behavior, communication, pack psychology, barn and horse safety.
- Introduction to Acupressure, Essential Oils, Nutrition, Grief Counseling and Palliative Massage.
- *Special guest lectures on saddle fitting, hoof care, flower essences, supplements, and more. *Dependent on guest availability.
- Following your pre-course work and 6 days of intensive training you will be prepared to perform a live practicum on the animal of your choice and take a written final exam in order to receive your Certificate of Completion.
- Following the program you will perform three independent case studies over a period of at least six weeks. Once you have satisfactorily submitted your completed case studies you will be awarded your Equine and Canine Sports Massage Practitioner Certificate.
Tuition: $1,700.00. Additional cost for books: $56.00 . You will be sent a list of books to buy independently.
EQUINE SPORTS MASSAGE OR THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE CERTIFICATION (EMC)
- 4.5 Days on-site per program. Pre course work required, allow three weeks. (90 hour Therapeutic Program and 140 hour Sports Program or 230 hours for both programs.) (25.5 CACVT supportive category CE's)
- Equine Muscle Anatomy and Physiology - Palpate bony landmarks and major muscles, learn origins and insertions and actions during movement.
- Pre-Massage Considerations
- Strokes, Techniques and Application of Sports (pre, post and in between event massage) OR Therapeutic Massage
- Post-Massage Considerations specific to Athletes for Sports Massage or Geriatrics, Arthritis, Emotional, and other Conditions for Therapeutic Massage
- Building Your Practice in the Sports Industry or the General Public. Confidentiality, ethics, developing, taking and maintaining records, preparing case histories, developing case studies, marketing strategies and insurance.
- Pathologies - Gait observation and its relation to muscle imbalances and abnormalities. Common diseases such as colic, laminitis and founder. Discuss medications, nutrition, and treatments both holistic and modern.
- Animal Handling- Behavior, communication, pack psychology, barn and horse safety
- Introduction to Acupressure, Essential Oils, Nutrition, Grief Counseling and Palliative Massage.
- *Special Guest Lectures on Saddle Fitting, Hoof Care, Acupuncture, Supplements, Flower Essences, and More. *Dependent on Guest Speaker Availability.
- Following your pre course work and 4 days of intensive training and daily hands-on massage work, you will be prepared to perform a live practicum and take a written final exam in order to receive your Certificate of Completion.
- Following the program you will perform three independent case studies (per program) over a period of at least six weeks. Once you have satisfactorily submitted your completed case studies you will be awarded your Equine Sports and/or Therapeutic Massage Practitioner Certificate.
Tuition: $1,200.00 per program or $2,280.00 for both. Please specifiy "Sports Massage Program " or "Therapeutic Massage Program ". We strongly encourage both programs for well-roundedness in your practice as most veterinarians like to see at least 100 hours in training. Additional cost of books for Sports Massage Program: $35.00 . You will be sent a list of books to buy independently.
CANINE THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE AND SPORTS MASSAGE CERTIFICATION (CMC) (THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE IS A PRE-REQUISITE TO SPORTS MASSAGE FOR THESE CANINE MASSAGE PROGRAMS.)
- 3.5 Days on-site per program or 7 days for both programs. Pre course work required for both programs, allow three weeks.(80 hours per program or 160 hours for both) (18 CACVT supportive category CE's per program)
- Anatomy and Physiology of the Dog - Palpate bony landmarks and major muscles, learn origins and insertions and actions during movement. Study from anatomical dog models as well as live subjects.
- Pre-Massage Considerations

- Following the program you will perform three independent case studies (per program) over a period of at least six weeks. Once you have satisfactorily submitted your completed case studies you will be awarded your Canine Sports and/or Therapeutic Massage Practitioner Certificate.

MASTER ANIMAL MASSAGE PRACTITIONER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (MAMC), please call the school to discuss applying for this program.
- Students are accepted on a case by case basis. AAMC graduates only.
- 50 hour independent internship with a RMSAAM Master Animal Massage Practitioner, Animal Shelter, Veterinary Clinic, Rehablilitation Clinic or other. This is decided on an individual basis.
- 50 hours of independent case study work
- 50 hours of assistant teaching in the RMSAAM setting
- Your mentor will be assigned to you upon your acceptance. This mentor will help guide you through the program.

Electives
Private Hands-On Practice Time - you may add these to your program if you would like additional hands-on instruction. Student's choice of topic. Time and day of week determined on an individual basis. This fee may also be shared by several students for a semi-private class.
Total: $65 per hour of Private Instruction.
Anatomy In Motion - Equine and Canine, Expand your knowledge of the muscles learned in your massage or acupressure program. Working with horses and dogs learn how each muscle is used in motion and how it impacts the body. 9am-5pm
Total: $150.00 for the day and includes all materials (6 CACVT supportive CE hours.)
Aromatherapy and Essential Oils for Animals. Application, contraindications, specific conditions and more. 12:30 - 6:00pm (5 CACVT supportive CE hours.)

Reiki Animal Practitioner Certification (Levels 1, 2 and Animal Practitioner) (5.5 CACVT supportive CE hours.)
