Special Workshops and Events for 2009

July 10-12 (Friday to Sunday) 3 DAY3 / 2 NIGHTS - WILDERNESS HORSEBACK TRIP IN THE BEAUTIFUL ROCKY MOUNTAIN ROARING FORK VALLEY! - RMSAAM and Avalanche Outfitters have joined to offer a horseback camping trip under the stars. Join us for three days on the trail, just long enough to get the experience without the pain! This special offering includes a horse, meals "lodging" (tent and sleeping bag), professional guide, camp cook, tips, etc. You will enjoy three days of riding, outdoor campfire cooking each night and the general fun and commaraderie of camping with friends and cowboys. This program is limited to 12 riders. We leave Redstone Stables on the early morning of the 10th. On the 12th we will enjoy a long, beautiful ride back to the stables. You can fly into Denver and drive for three/four hours or fly into either Aspen or Eagle/Vail and drive for one hour. $795.00 includes everything once you arrive at the ranch. TBD - ANATOMY IN CLAY - 5 Day Horse Anatomy Workshop. An in depth course on the musculo-skeletal structure of the horse. Develop your knowledge of muscles patterns and relationships, origin and insertion, function and more. Any animal massage practitioner will benefit from this more in-depth approach to equine anatomy. Using the Equiken skeleton model and clay, you will build the muscle system of the horse, muscle by muscle. This class will take place in Boulder, CO at "Anatomy In Clay", 2299 Pearl Street, Suite 300. Tuition: $1,200.00 Registration deadline tbd. $500.00 deposit to hold your place in the class. TBD - COLIC WORKSHOP

Two hour Workshop. Being prepared is important when a colic emergency strikes. This short workshop is a joint effort by Lisa Speaker and Kathy Pike. Kathy and Lisa will demonstrate holistic techniques they have used successfully to help relieve colic. Several holistic options will be discussed and demonstrated. Participants will be given hands-on practice time with the horses. This short class will take place in Carbondale. RMSAAM practitioners may take this class as one of their electives. $40.00.
