Equine Massage Level 1:

(Therapeutic Massage Therapist, ETMT)

$1,600.00

(35 live seminar hours and 72 home study cognitive hours)

Time to get started! Equine Massage Level 1 will be your starting point for your Equine massage career. The class will focus on therapeutic massage, and will go over topics including:

  • Introduction to anatomy and physiology
  • Pre-massage considerations
  • Strokes and techniques of maintenance and therapeutic massage
  • Post massage considerations for horses and horse owners
  • Specific massage conditions
  • Building and marketing your practice this includes confidentiality, developing/maintaining records, preparing case histories, developing case studies, marketing strategies and insurance
  • Pathologies – Gait observation and its relation to muscle imbalances and abnormalities, common equine diseases, discussing medications, nutrition, and treatments both holistic and modern
  • Horse handling – behavior, communication, intention, and barn safety
  • Introduction to acupressure and nutrition

On the final day of class you will be prepared to perform a live practicum and take a written final exam. Following your four day class you will have post coursework in the form of case studies. These act as your “real-life” experience, and this is how you will get your final certification.

 

Equine Massage Level 2

(Advanced Equine Massage Therapist, AEMT)

(35 live seminar hours and 123 home study hours)

This advanced course includes topics geared towards expanding your massage tool kit and knowledge, as well as some focus on animal athletes, the weekend warriors, trail horses, retired racehorse, etc. This level focuses on:

  • In-depth equine anatomy and organ systems, introduction to kinesiology
  • Pre-massage considerations with athletes
  • Strokes and techniques of sports massage
  • Introduction to topics like saddle fit, dentistry, and more
  • Post massage considerations specific to athletes
  • Specific conditions relating to athletes
  • Building your practice in the sports industry
  • Pathologies relating to athletes

On the final day of class you will be prepared to perform a live practicum and take a written final exam. Following your four day class you will have post coursework in the form of case studies. These act as your “real-life” experience, and this is how you will get your final certification.

 

Equine Massage Level 3

(Senior Equine Massage Therapist, SEMT)

$2,000.00

(35 live seminar hours and 72 home study hours)

The final level of the Equine massage program is Level 3! This level will focus on advanced techniques and senior horses. Topics include:

  • Focus on the Senior Horse
  • Pre-massage considerations and contraindications with seniors
  • Strokes and techniques of senior massage
  • Pathologies relating to seniors
  • Palliative care
  • Post massage considerations specific to senior horses
  • Specific conditions relating to seniors
  • Introduction to Reiki, Color healing, sound healing, end of life decisions, plants, essential oils, etc.
  • End of life decisions

On the final day of class you will be prepared to perform a live practicum and take a written final exam. Following your four day class you will have post coursework in the form of case studies. These act as your “real-life” experience, and this is how you will get your final certification.

We strongly encourage all programs for well-roundness in your practice as most veterinarians like to see at least 100 hours in training.
